**Magnetophone** tribute to Ligeti - Free Download |
 |
|
Hello all,
Magnetophone have contributed to an online tribute to Gyorgy Ligeti, the classical and electronic composer who wrote music for The Shining, 2001: A Space Odyssey and Eyes Wide Shut. The track is called 'The Old Silver In and Out' and it is available for free download along with many other artists' tracks (including u-ziq) at 256kbps.
I should mention, it's effing brilliant too : )
Mphone,

Yes me and Magnetophone as friends and general musical noisy mayhem buddies, go back quite a few years now. Can't remember where I first bumped into John- we even lived in almost the same road for a while. All cool all great fun. Probably the best time was doing my best to get John's brother Mark, completely shit-faced while making him listen to the most fucked-up music on this planet
It's the only way yer-know! _________________ ACHTUNG!

hey it's Matt- that's an even bigger shock!
Exeter or Salisbury was it? Anyway, the west country..... I bumped into John only recently, outside the Jug (it was probably ages ago now ).
I've been really busy as of late- with the kids and a recent degree (yes I know- about time too!) Stupidly I didn't do art and studied engineering instead- but I find it so boring (engineering that is)
tele:funken hasn't been transmitting as of recent, but I did form a band, which have now split up (I like to call it 'resting'!). Tele:funken hasn't done anything since the Charles Atlas remixes. Damn good LP that btw, and I really loved your contribution too it as well! It's a great LP for driving too on late nights in the dark up the motorway!!
But things are changing because engineering has kind of sapped all my energy out and that very gap has been refilled with burning desire to make music again, but I'm probably gonna drop synthesisers and samplers in favour of guitars and electronics. I really like the electro-acoustic possibilities of guitars. And I've also bought myself an 8 track too, rather than the computer route (but the Atlas remix was all Atlas, processed in Logic 6 and then re-mixed, so I still think computers are pretty cool for certain things).
Matt, I do recommend listening to Jan's stuff (Blue Hell) I think that you'd love it! _________________ ACHTUNG!

Nice one Tom. Sounds like you've been busy in the *real* world lol.
The new plans for your music sound good...let me know how it goes.
Matt.
Edit: thanks for recommendation btw - will check it out. _________________ www.magnetophone.co.uk
