Wout is the man ! Subject description: Modular rack ears. |
 |
|
About a year ago I decided to take the plunge into synthesizers & have been readily collecting them ever since. After some research from this site & a few others I decided to go with some of the Clavia stuff, & the modular specifically.
Unfortunately when I purchased my rack modular it was missing the ears which I really needed due to a lack of space. The guy I had purchased it from was a messy university student & couldn't find much of anything in that apartment.
When I came to this site Wout was most kind & generous in offering his time & efforts in sending the rack mounts & even going as far as paying the postage up front from the Netherlands to Canada.
I just wanted to say there are very few people around like this anymore & thank you Wout for being so considerate.
P.S. Wout please expect something in a few weeks via Canada.
Cheers ! _________________ It is at least ten times more difficult to get a good synthesizer sound than on an acoustic instrument. - Giorgio Moroder |

To me personally, the opportunity to participate in this Nord Modular user community, with its spirit of generosity, helping each other, sharing ones insights, patching tricks and patches etc. is almost more valuable than owning and using the G2 itself.
Whenever I achieved a personal breakthrough in patching (eg. my elastic audio stuff) and instantly posted it here, my friends would be rather amazed or even shocked: "What? You are posting this stuff out there for free??"
What they didn't know, is how much I have learned here from so many people. So my patches are just my humble attempt to give back as much as I can. Also, I get real enjoyment out of hearing people really finding my stuff useful for their music.
cheers,

yes, we are something else -- highly specialized problem solvers.
We make a plan/ or decide what problem we need to solve and ask questions, execute it in the Nord Modular editor, and celebrate the success all right here

Hey Dasz, I'm located in Toronto. I always wanted to make the trip out west though. I keep hearing it's a great place to live in Canada. _________________ It is at least ten times more difficult to get a good synthesizer sound than on an acoustic instrument. - Giorgio Moroder |

The concept of sharing the discoveries, patches, ideas, successes and failures or the NM1 is probably the single most important thing that made the NM community as strong as it is. One could argue that if the NM community did not help promote the NM through all of the sharing, it is conceivable that Clavia might not have ventured out with the G2 or other synths, electro-music.com might not have a reason to exist.
After I had bought the NM, I found the old 404 list just by chance. I remember all the patches that got posted daily, all of which ended up in every digest I downloaded. For some reason, I got busy with stuff, and stopped using my NM and reading the list. When I got back into it again, the old 404 list was gone ;( and it felt like I something important was missing. Then I found electro-music.com _________________ Free Tibet. Release the Panchen Lama from prison. Let the Dalai Lama return to his home. |

I keep reading the title + subtitle of this thread as
"Wout is the man with modular rack ears"
It actually could be advantageous in some cases I guess.... _________________ Spinning at ~0.0000115740740741 Hz |
