Just wondering why the black panels I get from FPE are so shiny versus the ones from Bridechamber or Synthtech? Is it possible to get that same kind of finish using FPD?

FPE is anodized while Synthtech is painted.

Damn !

The "info" is : it's not possible to get that same kind of finish using FPD, is it ?

I've understood FPD panels to be "too" shiny, at least you seem, numbertalk, a little bit dissappointed.

cheers

Very Happy

Indeed. I like the finish on the Bridechamber & Synthtech panels better.

I've gotten pretty close with rattle cans from the local big box store...I've got the color right on, but the splatter texture is hard to match without an airgun. I can get close using a combination of primer, textured paint, color coat and sealer. The texture is just a bit finer than a commercial panel. Buzz me if you want the recipe.

Of course, Synthtech is going powder coat for new panels due to the EPA rules for the two-part DuPont epoxy they use now. If a cheap HF powder coat gun, a couple of pounds of the correct powder, and a toaster oven from the thrift store works, I'll let you know. Very Happy
