I have got my Nord Lead 3 two month ago. I recorded a lot of songs meanwhile (see http://www.lastfm.de/music/Soundagentenori/Wondering ) but I always used the preset sounds.
What annoys me is, that I can´t find a real soft lead voice, flute like, (what I mean can be heard as a lead voice on Dan Linds Nord Lead 3 demosong "Analogue part one" http://www.clavia.com/MP3s/index.htm)
What I get as lead sounds is always bright, fm-like, but never sweet and soft. Which preset should I use to get such a sweet and soft lead voice as Dan Lind in his song?

The Clavia demo's are different made, but Lind's mp3 isn't a demo, but an entry to a competition! He uses the NordLead3, but also FX and certainly a mixing desk.

I wouldn't go for a preset, but try to make it from scrap. Triangle or puls wave forms to start with, using a 12 dB lowpass Filter and almost no resonance. The CutOff is very important in these kind of sounds. Still to much high and gritter? Go to the equalizer of the mixing desk.

Good luck!

Hope I find some time to dust of the NL3 this weekend Smile

Wout, do you know by any chance what brand or model of FX unit did Dan Lind use in their compositons (select and analogue part one)?

Moreover, do you have any information about him. I really would like to hear more of his music.

I made a search on the net and it looks like Dan Lind is a musical teacher at a Kultur Skola in Boras, Sweden. I try to send an email this evening. We could always invite him to join in for a while, can't we?

I am guessing that you really meant Borås, noting pedantically that to a Scandinavian, å and a are as different as a and e. Smile

Hello !!
Sorry Im not a musical teacher at a Kultur Skola in Boras, Sweden
Im a electrician in Hultsfred, Sweden

In Select and Analogue p1
Lexicon LXP-1
Lexicon PCM-60
Alesis Midiverb 2
Minimal EQ

Leadsound: Triangle wave. filter it down to a teremin like sound and adding
some resonance in matching pitch to get it more sinus like.

/Dan

welcome Dan!

I'ts a pleasure to see you around Smile

I really love your Select and Analogue p1 songs, and listen to them regularly. I wonder if it's possible to listen to more work from you?
