Is there a dedicated place here for tutorials? Things like, how to get started in DIY, how to pick a schematic capture and board layout package, what is SPICE and how to use it, whether to etch boards or have them made, etc...

I don't think there is. This section just got kind of thrown together, and then some sense was made of it later, but I think that's a good idea. Why don't you PM Howard? Unfortunately, I don't have the ability to set that up, because I'm not an admin. _________________ ACHTUNG!

I actually know a guy who knows Aaron, and he directed me to his class notes as well as the videos: http://users.ece.gatech.edu/~lanterma/ems10/ I haven't gotten very far, but definitely looks like a good resource. |

Coming into this a little late but, if you want some in-depth tutorials... actually an MIT course, check out https://6002x.mitx.mit.edu/ or their "Circuits and Electronics" lecture series via iTunes U.
It's the entire introductory semester of EE.
I've started watching these over the past few months during my commute to work and am really enjoying them.
There are also some great lectures on allaboutcircuits.com |

Yes, great video Bubzy. I learnt a lot! It's a fine art balancing the pcb manufacturing process in a kitchen AND having a wife. I CAN see how it makes perfect sense using your acetone as nail varnish remover. I'd imagine you'd get a different response if you used her nail varnish remover on your pcb's! |

I found this searching for euro rack modules but I suspect it has implications for all new synth builders:

VCO video tutorials |
 |
|
This guy gives detailed, step-by-step instructions to breadboard and build a pretty decent v/oct VCO similar to Rene Schmitt's 4093 VCO, with a lot of especially helpful explanations of theory as well. I reckon this is suitable for even absolute beginners! like me (。-∀-)

Probably a reasonably good time to update the links to your previous videos as well, Aaron, since the one I gave up above years ago is long dead....
