ArtWonk v1.0 is available for download |

Got this from Algoart via email. This program is the successor to the famous softstep sequencer program. This is very powerful, but complex. Not for everyone, but some people will really dig it. If you have even a passing interest in algorithmic composition, check out the free 30 trial.

Hello All,
ArtWonk v1.0 is available for download on the Algorithmic Arts web site. It will be a day or two before the ArtWonk web page is put up, but you can get to the download from the home page, or simply by downloading from this url:
http://algoart.com/download/software/artwonk.zip
The download is just under 4 Mb. When you install it, you will get a 30 day free trial of the full program, with nothing omitted or crippled.
You are invited to visit the users' forum at:
http://algoart.com/forum
...for additional patches and tutorials, and of course your comments, suggestions, and wish list items are always welcome.

I love Softstep! I see it as the sequencer equivalent of the Nord Modular (or at least the closest thing - it would be great if it could run on a HW box with some knobs like the NM). But since I've found other people to play with, I'm not as interested in algorithmic composition as I used to be.
Artwonk is "similar" to Softstep, according to the site (no details yet). I wonder what the differences are. It seems that Artwonk is for art too, not just music, and also for larger, more complex compositions. |
