This is maddening. I have a photo I need to get someone's license plate number from. I saw this person driving around the neighbourhood taking photos of homes. Hopefully, it's innocent, but I wanted to get the car's tag in case it's a burglar casing homes. I have a photo in which the car is visible, but I can't seem to get the car's tag to show clearly. Anyone have any suggestions? It's the car driving down the road in the middle of the photo.

I recommend giving this photograph to the police immediately and calling them when they come around- it's certainly the right thing to do. Just note what time he came and I assure you this person will re-appear. This reminds me of my friend's old girlfriend who had a regularly visiting stalker who would have probably kidnapped her had they not called the police several times and finally got his plate number. The parking lot looked kind of like that... stalkers love those setups because they blend in with all the cars. By stalker I also mean potential kidnapper/rapist/murderer. This is how a very many terrible crimes begin with people like this. There are few possibilities with this person, if your really think about it, either they are photographing homes that are being foreclosed, or they are a potential kidnapper/rapist ect... they like to have photographs of the scenery to plan abductions. The later is also more likely unfortunately due to the ready accessibility of anyone's address on the internet, no hacking skills required.

I can assure you that I am. Razz

Thanks, destroyifier. I emailed it to the county PD, acknowledging that there's probably nothing to do, but it's a "just in case" thing. There is sometimes "activity" in this neighbourhood, although it seems to be that if you're not involved in some way, nobody bothers you.

Did you know you can trip on your own feet, fall over and break your neck? This can happen at any time that you're not sitting down. Wink

you could get electrocuted while sitting down and playing with electrical sockets and I do not even want to mention anything about all the risks of DIY stuff.
Do not forget that Exclamation

Yes. Stop being so paranoid!

You guys should listen to yourselves. First a ridiculous story about child molesting versus a humanitarian crisis, and now this. How do you know that this isn't just someone who wants to move into the area? How do you know that this isn't someone who just likes different designs of houses? Maybe it's just another person, just like yourself? Have you people lost control of your senses??

I'm a photojournalist by trade (no, seriously, I am);

link edit by v-un-v; needed more precise location!

(Click on the link. The firework front cover is also by me)

This just appears to be another chapter of scaremongering just for the sake of it. Taking photographs used to be something I took for granted- in fact most people took it for granted. Now I must pass several police checks just in order to take pictures. Do you know that there isn't a law about taking pictures in a public place, on the public highway? Take a look at this video.... Is this what you want? A police state?

So think about it. If you want to be really silly, there is software out there, which will plug in to Photoshop, software which is currently used by the police for identifying fuzzy number plates etc called "focus magic".

http://www.focusmagic.com/

But if you have an ounce of sensibility, step back and consider your actions for a while, and think about how silly you may be being. Read this site; it'll help put a few things into perspective;
