If you like chilled tunes with a punch try www.obliqueism.com.
Feel free to download the tunes for your pleasure:
MicroDot
Rythmic tune with a punchy baseline. Nice for chilling
Nip
Crazy Vibraphone, illogical but fresh.
Porgy
Atmospheric and dark. Builds up slowly and kicks in with a beltar breakbeat about 3/4 through. Must to download. Sounds better with every listen.

Welcome to both of you guys.
&nd, great site. I love the graphics and the flash mp3 player. We've got to get something like that on this site. Maybe you'd be able to point me in the right direction. I have Flash MX but haven't used it before.
Anyway, the music is just great. I love all of the tracks. The beats are intellegent and the electronic sounds are really classy. This music is refreshing for it's lack of monotonous delay and heavy reverb. Great stuff.
I like the thin uncomplicated textures.
I found my way to the little movie. I suspect Mr. Lizer has something to do with that one. Anyway, that is really nice. The music matches the scene and action very well. Lots of fun. |

cheers mosc, you would be right, i am the graphics man, so i did the site and the video on www.lizer.co.uk for another of &nd's tunes.
Really chuffed u like his work, i too and mightly impressed with what he has done so far, i say so far as i have heard some of his other work which is ongoing and each time i hear new stuff it gets better and better.
The Mp3 Player is based on a Macromedia Exchange file i got from the Macromedia site. The Exchange files are like 'Plug and Play' files at you drop into flash and they work automatically, oviously i ripped theres apart and created my very own one, does the job and pulls in mp3's and streams them without any need for help
Thanks again for your comments

OK, thanks for the tip about Macromedia. I'll go to their site and see what I can find. Maybe if I run into some learning curve problem, I can ask you for a little help.
I need an mp3 player that will provide some sort of javascript trigger when the file is finished playing. Quick time doesn't provide this signal. Flash is the best one because it is loaded on almost all PCs and Macs. I read that something like 97% of browsers have Flash plugins loaded. |

Hi music lovers - just a quick update on the site for those that are interested. I helped &ND get this lot sorted!!!
Weve had a fantastic response to the obliqueism web site with literally tens of thousands of hits in the last 2 months (27K between June 1st and June 8th alone) and things are looking really great with hundreds of people downloading &NDs tunes. Micro Dott seams to be the favourite followed by Porgy then Nip (If you havent heard them yet have a listen.)
&ND is working on some remixes at the moment trying and entering some net remix comps we're hoping this will go someway to improving his reputation
I have some advice for other musicians like &ND who are looking to do this kind of thing:
* GO FOR IT - Dont be paranmoid about whether it will be liked / disliked
* SITES LIKE THIS ARE GREAT - although we aint had many views or comments on this forum (or any others) hits have been tremendous because of the network that they help to develop. Thanks Electro-Music!!
nice 1 - speak soon . comments negative and positive are welcome!!

Nifty site design. I usually like a little more info - but it's immediately eye catching and easy to navigate.

Absolutely - if you're happy with what you write, that's what truly matters. ...and chances are someone else will appreciate your efforts also. |
