I just finishing restoring a Roland AX-7 keytar. Unfortunately the previous owner had abused the thing so much he lost a couple of the momentary switch knobs. I knew Roland would want some outrageous amount for original replacements so I decided to DIY them.

Basically I created molds with molding clay found at the hobby store. I then pounded a good knob into the clay and pulled it out, leaving a perfect cavity. I then filled it with hot glue. Make sure you pump the glue in like soft serve ice cream to get rid of air pockets. Let it cool, then pull out your copy. Trim with razor knife and paint per your choice of colors.
