Hi,

Have you seen this what someone is selling on ebay??

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mini-Synth-3-Oscillator-Ring-Mod-Analogue-Heaven_W0QQitemZ320105664554QQihZ011QQcategoryZ38071QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Anybody know what it is??

I wonder how much a WSG would bring (I've seen a few atari punks too..I think that's what they are called..)

Looks interesting. I wonder what circuit is in it. It sounds similar to something from MFOS but not the same.

It doesn't mention any sort of voltage control. For £95, that makes it a fairly expensive function generator with a ring modulator (which might be simple AM?) "Inter-modulation"? wotzat? It's amplitude, frequency or phase mod. Which is it?

It doesn't appear to have any external modulation inputs at all. Maybe it could be modified, maybe it's just a couple of 555s in there with a diode bridge and some pots for a ring modulator.

It looks cute, but I wouldn't buy it myself. No offense intended. Just I don't think it's worth 95 squids.

I think I know who is selling these. A friend of mine from up the road. He's got kids and a mortgage and a crappy paid job, so £95 is a fair price imo (especially after you add up the work spent putting them together). And people are buying them- so there! Cool

I'm sure there are plenty of DJs forking out for them. When it's a rare classic, you can tell me I missed out Razz

For me it'd be about $200, plus the loot to get it across the pond. To quote Mick Jagger when told what the new Moog modulars cost, "That's a lot of bread, man."
FWIW though it does seem cool

good on him..

I wish I was:-

1, clever enough to design my own noise maker thingy (I would never steal someone elses design and make money out of it..that's not on!!!)

2, Had enough time to make a few (I'm also married with kids)

3, brave enough to ask £95 quid on ebay for em..

I'd do it myself.. Smile
