Something onboard to regulate +5vdc off the +15 rail would be cool. |
some good points!
am designing the prototype for TL0X4s. cannot see why not.
i will use a minimum spacing of 5mm for capfootprints as it makes things easier,
and yes, a LM7805 (or maybe LM78L05) is part of the redrawn schematic. _________________

I agree there. Not good for the overseas delivery outside the US. That is just plain robbery. I ship all over the world and use AIR LETTER POST. I can ship several 4x6 PCB's to Australia for about $7.00! He should be doing the same. He is reasonable if you live in the states.
It's a shame people make money on shipping charges. It should only be for the materials and actual shipping charge but many overcharge to make a buck.

Can I put in for 2PCBs as well. I'll see what I can do to source semiconductors here, though. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

i finished the single sided layout for verifying purposes today. hope i will get the PCB etched and populated until end of next week?!
if we really come to the point to have a run of professional PCBs i could perhaps order a bunch of SN76477 for 10EUR each from federico/italia for those who have a hard time finding a sn76477 for a reasonable price... _________________

Looking forward to an update. Good idea on the chips. A ways back a local elect supply store had a couple I need to see if they still do. _________________ "your stripes are killer bro" |

Yes! Put me down for 2! I acutally breadboarded this circuit back when I was lucky enough to get my hands on TH's book Build a Better Synthesizer. It would make an excellent addition to a modern modular synth! I think I even have a number of both narrow and wide body 76477's in my parts bin waiting to be used for a cool project like this!

thank you all for your replies and the interest. we should not miss this chance.
i got about 40 advance orders for now, so there will be a run. pricing roughly same as PS3100, i guess. i will keep you informed and won't give it to production until the price is clear and everyone had a chance to say yes/no.
BTW the prototype will not be finished before end of next week. _________________

Thomas Henry's SN76477 Super Controller Subject description: Documents source for |
|
|
Thomas,
It might be worth mentioning that this and others of your designs are still available in old issues of Polyphony magazine. (And other magazines that you've written articles for.)
PAIA still has and sells back issues of Polyphony. They are not too expensive and are a nice source for vintage information.
Additionally, many university and public libraries carry old magazines in their stacks or on film. Interlibrary loan can get you information from across the world; albeit at a slower pace than we have become accustomed to!
Many university music programs would love a visit from a knowledgable analog synth person. (Who might then find that old reference materials were available.) I saw my first Buchla this way.

Well, actually, I don't have any SuperController stuff anymore. What I was getting at is that if anyone wants to post what they have here, it wouldn't bother me. The main thing is, don't post anything that would interfere with Matthias being able to make a PCB run worth his while.
