Hi Guys and Gals,

The Magic Smoke Electronics "Mankato" VCF is finalized and we're about to order a run of Rev02 PCBs! We do, however, have 5 of the Rev01 boards left that we used to check the design and layout. These are professional, double sided boards, but they need a small amount of rework to get all eight outputs at consistent levels (three tacked on Rs, a trace cut and two jumpers). These are bare boards, so this 'rework' is obviously in addition to the other components you'll need to place. If you want a Mankato PCB (be the first on your block!) and are willing (and able) to do a little bit of rework, let us know at magsmoke@gmail.com

The Rev01s go for $14 + shipping and it's first come, first served (Rev02s, which won't need the rework will go for about $25). Thanks!

Tim (trying to think of a city to name the next design after) Servo

The standard joke back when they named the Mankato was "It's a good thing Thomas wasn't from Sheboygan".

The TH-201 Sheboygan: the filter you can't pronounce without sounding like Jerry Lewis Very Happy

I'm glad to see the Mankato stepping out into the world!

Cheers,
Scott

PS: My apologies to the citizens of Sheboygan. It could be worse - you could be from Kansas.

Hi All,

Well, the bad news is that all the Rev01 PCBs were spoken for in less than two hours after my original post. Yipes! I wish we had more, but the Rev02s will be ordered this week. I've been trying to get back to everyone who asked for a board and it's taken me a while, so I apologize if I've missed anybody.

Anyway, the Rev02 Mankato PCB will be $21 +shipping and we SHOULD have them in 2 - 3 weeks (depends on the board house). And yes, they'll also be blue. Wink Shout out if you're interested, so we can get an idea of how many to order. Thanks everyone!

Hey Sneak,

The parts list and documentation is on it's way! One customer in The Netherlands got his board in just two days (sent via the same Air Mail service, go figure), so I'm glad to hear you got yours. Rev01s went to Germany, Netherlands, UK, Australia, and the US of A, so it's a very international board now. Wink

Let me know how the build goes, and if you have any questions. Thanks!

hehe - not me 'cos I got one too! Damn I'm looking forward to busting this one out - eight outputs who-hah! Amazing. Going to chomp on the documentation tonight and see about making a panel design...

Thanks to Tim!
