Ouch Those Monkeys |

Hi there...
just introducing myself & the band 'Ouch THose Monkeys' to this ace forum & multi-blog thang. I am also co director of furtherfield.org an explorative net art site, & furthernoise.org.
http://www.furtherfield.org/otmonkeys/index.htm
'OTM' are rapidly becoming part of the Internet landscape, leaving heart-felt unsettling messages for the Net world. Diverting the mediated gaze/haze, bypassing the delusory bimbo-pop trap and just gettng on with making their contemporary, imaginative noise without compromise. Advocating that everyone should start making their own noise, clouding out the corporate gatekeepers. Do not let anyone stop you from creating your own art, clamping your genius, your own voice - they are the enemy of our imaginations. Remember that there is a war against our imagination, 'OTM' are reclaiming theirs. Let's kick ass and explore what's left of our imaginations' in this very shakey and uncertain world! _________________ An explorative and prolific Darkwave, net-based band. HEY! Great to have you here. Did you you meet my buddy Espen Gangvik from the norwegian foundation TEKS a few months ago? He was over for some event in London .. supposedly arranged by Furtherfield? |

hi elektro80,
What a coincidence! Yes, we are the same group - that was a great day. In fact I believe that Ruth (the other director) has been communicating via email with Espen ever since that day. We are suppozed to be doing an event with TEKS in October or November, not exactly sure yet. I also think that he is staying here, at our studios this Thursday as well...

Yes, he's definately staying round our place. It is on Thursday, I think we might go for a meal at a local Turkish restuarant - if he gets back at ours in time that is from all the visiting in London...

Espen is originally from the north of norway.
You could try to read him this story and see if he laughs:
(Yes.. it is in norwegian.. so this is a challenge for you )
I did a google on "nordlending" ( which means a person from the north of Norway ) and "grovis" (which means dirty joke). This thing was the first I found on top of the list. Which.. hmm.. well. you WILL understand why.. or whatever... |

i've copied the joke & will try reading it to Espen tomorrow night - wish me luck. My verbal and language skills are not proficient in many dialects...
