I wouldn't want to go into any club, gay, straight, or otherwise,
where one is made to feel uncomfortable just because you are
in a minority in there. Wasn't that what all the fuss was about ? _________________ Lots of new albums at Ambientlive |

I'm not very much into clubs either, but isn't a club always about being not diverse in some respect? A club usually has a theme - some may be more open to stuff outside that theme than others, but they'll try to stick to the subject. Think about sports clubs, like in football - very exclusive. The use of the word "club" in conjunction with eclectic music venues can be a bit confusing if you think about it.

That's a interesting point, Antimon.
On the other hand you could also say that a "club" implies something that's relatively shielded off from the outside world and so might allow for more -instead of less- freedom. This would largely depend on how restrictive one experiences the "outside world". _________________ Kassen |

Clubs are fine as long as they don't insist on a dress code. Not that I've actually been to one for a while

The term "gay" is wrong, the word to describe what people call "gay" hasn't been invented yet, imo.
"Gay" is a term that was invented by heterosexual people, to inaccurately describe "gay" people. It was accepted by the latter, because most "gay" people are in fact racist. It is precisely this unconditional acceptance that makes someone a racist.

Gay, straight, black, white... its all the same music |

I dont understand why some people seem to think that house music can be put into catagories of Gay/straight/black/white! Its all house music, its all made by people of all races, colours, sexual orientations!
House music (and any other dance genre) is about getting together in a room with fellow humans, and losing yourself to the music, so you are all happy and dancing to the same beat!
So no matter who you are (or how much of a minority you feel), you are included in a worldwide family of house music lovers.
Its all about zero predudice and maximum good times!
I have never bought a record and thought 'oh id better check out what colour the person who made it is... or wonder if they are gay or straight, just enjoyed the good music! _________________ Electronomist's Website! |
