Subject description: 115v to 250v convertion

Hi There, hope someone can help me here. I have stupidly connected the G2 to a 250v socket without switching the connector insede the G2 from 115v to 250v. So after connecting the G2 the lights went of a quick as they went on. So my question would be how badly can I have wrecked the G2. I have now changed the voltage in the G2 but It doesnt power up anymore. The fuse also seems ok.
Hope I can get some professional help here...

Thanks in advance for any posts...

cheers
Jason

thanks for your quick reply Blue Hell

Well, fuse looks ok. Its not torn or burnt, just seems slightly bent. I used a german cable from some equipment that needs far less power than the G2. So hopefully getting a connector for the original cable will do the job.

hope to post good news soon

Most of the time a blown fuse looks blown, but not always. Sometimes they burn out in one of the end caps and you can't see the damage. This is rare, but I've "seen" this happen (fuse looks good but an ohm meter says it's an open circuit). I hope that's the case for you.

...and exactly that happened. The fuse looked fine but the soldering point at the top end had no contact. so guess Im a lucky b****...
Again thanks for your quick help on this. Got a fuse this afternoon and its working fine. after 1 hour I can say "the most interesting equipemt" I ever got my hands on.
cheers
