Patch Load Percentages Subject description: Where are the patch load percentages indicated in the G2 (Mac OSX) |

Dear Forum members!
Maybe you can quickly help me out with my "percentage"Problem. I recently got a G2X, before working only with the NM1. With the NM1 there was always a percentage problem and that's why the percentage of patch load of all modules was indicated somewhere! Now, where is it in the G2? I haven't read the entire manual yet, so forgive me, if it is mentioned somewhere there or somehow self-evident.
Thank you in advance

I'll forgive you, it's not in the manual anyway
Unfortunately the secret numbers we have on the Classic ar not present for the G2. Things are a bit harder on the G2 anyway as the patches are optimized before they are being executed on the hardware. For the Classic the percentages were available in the editor even when rhe synth was not connected, for the G2 you'll only have 'm when the synth is connected, so apparently it has to be asked to the synth or something.
Is there a specific problem you want to solve? _________________ Jan

Thank you, Blue Hell, for the comment, I do not have any specific problem at the moment, but I do have the tendency, to optimize my patches (on the NM1) with regard to their sonic possibilities in conjunction with the maximum voices, they can give. That is, on the NM1 my patches were always close to 99.9%, 33.2% 25% and I tried hard to drop % to those values, if they were originally just a bit higher than those numbers to get the maximum number of voices out of a patch.
Of course, I can find out the % on the G2 as well, just creating an empty patch and then putting all the modules in, always one at the time, and thererafter notate the change in cycles and memory. But I think, Clavia should have done this as a service to us G2 owners.

Well it's not that easy. Maybe try it, you'll get some really funny stuff, especially when you throw in some cables or delete 'm, or when things are changed from audio rate to control rate. there is no simple one to one correspondence as there was with the NM Classic.
Edit: don't forget to have a look at what happens when you put in the first LFO and then a next one and another one. _________________ Jan

Also, the load indicators in the editor aren't completely reliable, are they? I've heard of cases where you could go to 101%, or the patch would "red out" at 99%. Best is to simply check the voice count or if the loads turn red, to see if you've passed a threshold.

And moving some modules to the FX area may help. |
