Hello Everyone and Merry Christmas!

I know I'm late getting this out, but at least it's out. My apologies. Embarassed

Attached is the GUI for the G2ools converters, for Windows.

Depending on the feedback and bugs, I will also put together a version
for the MAC. I'm Windows developer by profession, so working on the MAC is mostly uncharted territory for me.

There is a readme file inside of the zip, and hopefully it is clear enough.
If not, let me know.

You MUST have the G2ools already installed (and working).
You do NOT need to have Python installed to use this on Windows.

The GUI is not a new version of the G2ools converter, it's just a user interface.

This has only been tested on Windows XP, SP2, so if you are using any other version of Windows and have problems, let me know.

Known problems with beta 0.1

1, If you select the NM2g2 converter and use a directory without patches or with DX7 patches, the GUI calls the converter, but never returns.
2. When using the DX converter there is a long lag from when you start the converter until you see the converted patches in the list box.

You're welcome. I assume. It's working ok for you. There are still a few problems to fix, but I was able to convert about 10 subdirectories full of patches (about 100 patches or so, total), without any problems.

I know it's got a crude look & feel, but that can be improved over time.
I wouldn't say I'm ten times faster than Clavia, considering I started on this project about 9 months ago- then stopped Wink

Great enhancement!!!

It works great on the patches I converted.
The only 'problem' is the display in some of the boxes in the interface, but that's hardly a problem for me.
I haven't done any DX conversions yet, but I will try later this day.

Great job. Thanks cappy2112.

Regards

Tom

Thanks. Would you elaborate on what you mean by "the display in some of the boxes"?

Thanks.

Are you referring to the box in the upper right that's grayed out (the one labeled TBD) ?

That's intentional. That's there as a reminder for me. TBD means To Be Done (not Tony's Been drinking) Wink

I may be adding something there in the next release.

Thanks. This is the kind of feedback I need.
Does anyone else see these graphics oddities on their systems?

Oddly enough, I don't see these issues on my system, but I have a few custom setting under Visual Effects in control panel turned on. Most are disabled to help maxmise performance. These settings sometimes affect how graphics appear, and is controlled by the OS.
For example- all of the square boxes in the GUI, have rounded corners on my system. This is something that is definitely controlled by the Visual Effects settings in Ctrl Panel

I will see if there's something I can do to make these issues appear on my system

I wasn't able to react earlier, but dxmat describes the issue I mentioned in my post.

It's jus a minor thing to me, because ist works perfect when it comes to the actual conversion of patches.

Thanks for the feedback.
When you run it on your system, do the group boxes have square corners or rounded corners?

Would you try this? Enable the visual styles in Ctrl Panel, and see if the issues you mentioned change.

thanks

You've told me what I needed to know, so that is helpful.
Are you running XP or Vista?

Check your PM.

I think the website isn't users notifying of PMs again.
There are PMs in my sentbox from over a year ago
