Nord Modular G1 & Mac Intel Processor

Hello everybody,

I want to change my Mac computer.
I have a iBook G4 with a IBM PPC processor and I want to buy a new MacBook with Intell processor.
So... my question : is the NM G1 editor Beta OSX works on this Mac Intell ?
If somebody here has try, could you let me some information about.

Don't know.

But one thing I do know is that Windows 98 does work very well within Parallels Desktop. Lets face it, the OSX NM1 beta editor is crap- in fact the OS9 editor, compared to the Windows editor was also pretty shameful. My wife bought a PC laptop recently for £10 ( Exclamation

) so she can edit her Nord- so there is always an alternative Very Happy

Does the NM G1 editor work on mac intell based processor and Tiger ?

Sorry, but I don't see a lot of question about the subject after a research on google and this forum.
Just a topic about Leopard, but it not talking about Intell processor and you know that Leopard can be run on PPC.
I know that the editor run but I don't know if the connection with the hardware is possible because I find a subject here talking about a non-compatibility with Java and Midi.
So, I would to be sure.

So... I have just one word to say you : THANKS !
Because the solution of the £10 laptop is not so good... especially if it's run windows... It's better to buy a old G3 laptop, more expensive, but a mac.
For me, I don't want to have many computer, just one which make all I want . That is the real solution.

If and when I get an Intel Mac, one of the first things I'm going to try is Nomad (the open source G1 editor).

Hel:lo, I read from " v-un-v " that the Norld Lead editor for the classic G1 modular machine runs on intel mac (Tiger OS and Leopard OS).

On my side , I tried to launch the Editor on my Mac Intel 10.4.10 and I can't laucnh it. The system answer that this application is not for Mac intel ..

I am lost because, if " v-un-v " mentionned that it was working, I imagine I do something wrong, isn't it ?

Can you help me ?

I have meanwhilme bought a small pc that I connet to the NL so no worries but it would be wonderful if I could use only one machine.

hi, i have an intel imac with 10.4.11
and it definately works.

just download the mac os x beta from clavia.se
i downloaded the small Fonts package too, plus Mandolane Midi2, but that might not even be necessary.

thx for the advice, I did it but now I get an file with the extension .hqx. Do you know what is it ? (sorry I am novice in the Mac world !)

.hqx for mac is like .zip for pc
you need to download Stuffit Expander.
it's for free, you only have to give a valid emailadres.

Oki,

so I used Stuffit expander on the nord Leab N1 editor (3.03) -> xxx.hqx

I get the package uncompressed and I get an icon (the nord Lead Editor icon). COOOL !!

BUT THEN I double click on it and the system answers that the soft can 't be run on my OS 10.4.X !!!

Why ?

if you want the modular editor for mac osx
get the Beta version thats on the website of clavia.se

just for my personal info, I tried previously to find the editor "beta" on the website of clavia..but I didnot find anything apart from the editor in HQX file format. So I bookmarked the link: http://www.clavia.se/downloads/ Wink
