3phase... mildly baffled by your website. (maybe I should have the sound up?)
Welcome to the forum. You've got me by five years on age, but I probably still feel older than you... |

ups ... so much interest
thanks for the warm welcome
Q: Beat oriented in 1983... what would that sound like?[/quote]
rather horrible...not exactly funky... zaggatakkataktaktak...
and there was rarley a syntheziser only produktion (expensiv beasts)...tapeloops and a delay with holdswitch was the main instruments...a pro one... cheap drumboxes
steeltrash with guitarpickups...modified electret mics ( they feedback like hell), flutes, violins, plastiktanks, water and from a certain point a emu drumulator i sometimes lent from this kriminal down the road. all combined in whatever possible way... Tapecollage and multiple backingtapes...this kind of stuff.
Was more fun doing it than listening to it. Maybe I put a few from the better pieces on my webpage one day.
It s a bit dangerous in germany to put your music on a webpage these days...you might end in a situation where you pay 20cents for each download of your own music... They try to fight for musicans rights now ( har har har)...You can claim the money back...(in my case i would get around 40% 2 years later back)... They cant control the public...so they try now to control the musicans...
Musicindustrie sucks
I think i ve to find a server in another country or win a lawcase
I never signed these papers for internet rights...but this dont says that they dont try to get you before court...not so easy, i will meet a lawyer next week...
However...have fun |

I've heard a little about this before. Do you think using a creative commons license would help?
Who would have thought it would be so difficult to give something away for free. I guess societies (not just individuals) can have trouble accepting gifts. |

Actually... thsi is a growing problem all over the world. THX to "help" from you know who in the US.. legislators all over the world are ensuring
1) that the artists are getting the share..
2) that the way the new system works actually kicks the unsigned artists completely out of the game
Soon you might wake up in a world where you have to be signed in order to release music in any way. This is NOT a joke. So.. it is just excellent to ignore what the majors are up to. They are NOT only figting piracy, biut also fighting "noise" in the marketplace.. and yes.. the small unsigned artists are noisy. These unwanted elements are making the customers lose their focus on the proper products. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Hiya 3phase. You're looking great btw. Looking forward to hearing your music ... somewhere, sometime. Be sure to post something about it when it happens.

Great. Can't even GIVE my own music away!? Well... it'll always be available somehow. A century or two ago the gov't here in it's infinite xtian/capitalistic wisdom outlawed native american potlatch (giveaway) which the old white guys thought was insane since it wasn't profit oriented.
I'd always suspected this kind of thing would happen. I thought it was one of the reasons for the very shady sale of mp3.com. Wiped out A LOT of indies with that one.
So. Does anyone have a link? Someplace I could go and read about it so I can get even more depressed & pissed off?

when i give away music free it have to go over my webpage...otherwise its useless... I see it more as an acustic illustration of the future text/artwork content of my webpage... Something to motivate people to give up one or two beers and buy some music direct from the farmer....
This is actually wrong...The music industrie are the farmers...musicans are seen as cows in this game...Difficult to motivate people to buy directly from the cow... |
