| Hey gomidas,
I have the exact same config as you, but mmj and osxmidispi work for me. What is the problem when you use those? Is the EDIROL not recognized?

 Regards, manuel

| Hi gomidas,
when you tried our osxmidispi, did you remove the other SPIs (mmj, mandalone) ? It could be that they interfere with each other.

 P.S.: Java 1.5 = Java 5, Java 1.6 = Java 6

Anyone find a way to switch between horizontal and vertical mouse control of knobs in the editor?

Currently there is no way to change the behaviour. But in one of the next releases there will be such an option.

| when i start nomad-0-3_2 with "java- jar nomad.jar" on my ubuntu desktop nomad launches fine.
however, i can not connect to my micromodular. in fact, i can't even go to edit->preferences or file->preferences (both options are grayed out).

i was able to connect with the previous version of the editor.

any advice? thanks in advance and glad to see a new version!

 edit:

after watching the screencasts i tried to connect to my micromod but got this error:

wanted to add that i'm using the midisport uno 1x1 ...

is there a tool like midiox for linux or mac osx? i think it's working though because the last version of nomad could connect.

| Just tried Nomad 0-3_2 on Vista with Java 1.6 with and Edirol UM-3ex, no good, no connection
It looks like a timeout on the heart beat ... would that be the real problem or could it be that MIDI is not neatly grouped into completed messages (an issue I've ran into at times with MIDI on windows)?

The Clavia editor seems to work on this config, although I didn't really test it yet.

Edit : I Do have the synth set for internal clock.

Anyway, here is my dump :

We did not test Nomad on Vista because none of us has this OS. Nomad contains some code which tries to "correct" invalid sysex messages and I believe this causes some of the timeout problems. At the moment I can't say more than I will look into this.

The current release contains a bug which causes this exception. You have to set the synth midi clock to "internal" as workaround.

midisport + ubuntu should not cause any problems.

| update: i just checked my nord micromodular with "Nord modular editor v3.03" under windows, looks like i already had MIDI clock to internal. i tried toggling it back and forth just for good measure and starting nomad with the MIDI clock to both internal and external but "Preferences" was still grayed out in nomad's Edit menu, even under winXP
is this something that might be fixed in the head CVS build?

 thanks!
