Troube w/ "Download to current Slot" on micromodular |
 |
|
hello i am running Nomad 0.2.1(pre-release) on my ubuntu desktop with a m-audio midisport 1x1
everything seems connected fine (specified 1 modular slot in the xml file) and i am able to "upload active slot" from the synth and play with it.
however, i am unable to load patches into my micromodular. when i open a new patch and say "download to current slot" the LEDs on the micromod displayg "--" and nothing else happens.
is this the expected behavior and i am doing something wrong or missing a step?
thanks so much for any help! |

Hi starpause,
you probably experience some kind of error here. The version you use was never really tested with the micro. I think it is not worth to sort out this problem (which seems to be a bug in Nomad in this case) since we provide a new release in the next 2-3 Weeks. The upcoming release is tested and works well with the Micro Modular and your problem should disappear with the new version. Please post again if the problem still exists in the new version of Nomad.
Regards

i have been having similar problems with my nord modular (full, not micro . v3.03)
whenever i save a patch to a slot it loses connection with the nord and then when i restart the connection it is containing an "error" patch .
so i decided to try it with the midi clock set to "internal" and not my usual "external" and now it cannot find my nord at all .
it times out when i try to connect , . . .
any help ?
heres the time out message .

Hi hinotori,
are you able to save an empty patch in the slot ? The patch name should be empty when you try this.
Would you post a patch which causes this problem ?

hi chresan .
thanks for the reply .
ok...heres a quick step by step .
-i open nomad .
-i click on the "diamond" to connect to my nord key .
-the 4 patches currently stored in the 4 slots appear within nomad and are available to modify .
-if i try to save a patch nomad loses connection with the nord after a couple of seconds but doesnt show any error messages that i could post up here.
-when i reconnect to the nord it is containing an "error" patch in the slot that i previously tried to save into .
i tried to save an empty patch but the same thing happens .
it occurs with ANY patch .
eg .
-open nomad .
-connect to nord .
-click new patch .
-empty patch appears .
-save to slot A.
-loses connection .
-reconnect to nord.
-nord contains "error" patch in slot A.
ive tried empty ptches with various names including "test", " ", "empty" and "untitled" .
i have also tried saving these to slots A, B, C and D.....
is there any log i can send you ? |

Quick question, are you using the latest version of mmj? Or could you try redownloading it from the website? There was a bug involving sysex corruption that was fixed in mmj, maybe that's it?

Yes, the application directory contains a file called "logfile.txt". _________________ ----------------------

i have reset my nord . by erasing the flash and reinstalling the OS just in case it was a problem with a corrupt file or something similar.
but it still wont save a patch to slot .
so i erased and reinstalled Nomad, still the same problems .
here is the log file :

hi
downloaded the latest version .
this time...
connected fine .
but again, problems when i tried to save a patch to slot .
i tried to save to slot B.
it lost connection with the synth .
but this time is also randomized all 4 patches that were in the 4 slots . loading an "error" patch in slot A . and completely different ptches from within the synth into slots B, C and D.
very strange behavior.
when i tried then to reconnect to the nord nomad went into thinking mode . with the mac colour wheel spinning and nothing happening until i had to force quit .
due to force quitting im not sure if theres any useful info in the log but here it is . . .

Disconnecting when downloading patch / error |

Same problem here.
I'm using Nomad 0.3 with Mandolane / latest Java version under OS 10.5.2 with a Macbook Pro and a MOTU Fastlane.
Uploading and editing seems to be no problem. When downloading a patch the Nord Modular Keyboard disconnects. After reconnecting an Error message appears in the Slot I tried to download the patch to.
Error-message:

I really love the new Nomad Editor. It's great! I love the new library as well.
I tried to switch the modular clock to internal within the modular. Then I get the following error message:
net.sf.nmedit.jsynth.SynthException: net.sf.nmedit.jnmprotocol2.MidiException: timeout: 10000ms (net.sf.nmedit.jnmprotocol2.SynthSettingsMessage) [error=-1001]

The connecting only works with external midi clock.
But thats no problem. What really bothers me is the error when downloading.
