somewhere on the nmeditor site i read about this patchloader tool.
is it for for linux and os x as well? or an only windows thing?
could that help to store the patches from HD in the synth?
in os x i can use the mostly chrashing osx beta editor to store the patches in the synth. because os x seems to be very well programmed i can always kill the editor without hangs of the rest of the sysytem. in linux there is no way to do that. or is there one?

Welcome whitenoise23,

patchloader was an early tool made by Marcus Andersson, the work that went into it was incorporated into nomad and further developed by Christian Schneider. Marcus developed under Linux.

I had a look at the cvs but the patchloader folder seems empty ... oh wait, there is something at http://nmedit.cvs.sourceforge.net/nmedit/nmedit/patchloader/ - you'll have to build it yourself after extracting the right stuff ... it's a bit messy to me ... you'll also need some lib and pdl stuff.

hi!
ok...i understand. (do i?) then it would not make so much sense to build that if it is an early prestage of the nomad3 as it is now.
why is it not possible to access the microlars memory to store the patches there? can i not change the ownership od the device in somehow to get rootaccess or such?
greets
yann

I think so.

The communication protocol with the synth is not so easy, the Clavia software is not free of trouble either, and the protocol was reverse engineered so there probably still are errors. The Nomad software is developed by people in there spare time, so things go not as fast as when done commercially. But you knew all of that already I guess.

my question is because i try to understand what happens. not a demand. i understand the situation of open source programmers.
