The setting [sysex > receive] enables the tool to receive the information; it not a command to send the sysex. To do this, press on the synth [Shift+Dump One]. If the parameters in the tool change, the information is in the computer...
Contact here again when you have success using in the above moves
There is a bug, not that important, but essential when saving on the computer.

Does it work?
What is the 'bug'...?
It's about saving the file on the computer. When opened for the first time, NordGen has already one Patch to be saved: the 'blank' Patch. The Patch counter indicates [1]. When uploading from the synth the indicator reads [2] Every new upload will be added. So far, no problem.
Only when saving to the hard disc, all those extra Patches are saved too. A normal Patch file is 139 bytes!!! No more. I created files 15 Mb large, which only produced the latest uploaded one, so just one sound...
What to do?
In the folder, in which you want to save, copy and paste NordGen. It's a small tool, so it won't use much room on your disc. Use this particular tool to upload from the synth to the computer. After uploading go to [File > Explode Bank] which results in two files in the folder, named nord0.ngf and nord1.ngf. The first one is the 'blank' file, the last one is the file you want to save. Delete nord0.ngf and rename nord1.ngf as you like it to be saved. BTW [Explode Bank] is the same as 'being saved all' to the hard disc.
I rename the suffix *.ngf > *.syx, because SysEx can be used in other situations too. (ngf = syx)
Note: NordGen always 'explodes' in the folder the tool is situated, so if you don't use the same folder as where to be saved in, there is a search quest needed...

I wrote this a little bit longer Don't forget when you want to dump another Patch, first [File > Clear Bank], otherwise NordGen will add the newly dumped Patch to the first two.
It's not a very nice way, but it works and it keeps your archive clean!
You don't need to save when you use the 'explode' command. The file is already on the disc. When opening a file into NordGen (*.ngf opens when clicking the file in the archive; *.syx have to be assigned to it - normal Windows procedure) and you change a parameter in the tool itself, you can use [Save] only.
