Quick Question: Multiple Midi Channels @ 1 Slot? |
 |
|
Hello! Im in my 3rd day of owning/using my G2, and am totally obsessed with it. Currently I'm undergoing my first round of patch making, and have the need for drums! I've found some ways to make rad sounding ultra cheap FM drums, and would like to have all of them in a single slot (leaving the other slots for other sounds, as im making full tracks with just the G2). I'd also like to have a dedicated midi channel for each drum - at least 4. I do like constantly varying the pitch of drums and if i could do that with note msgs rather then CC msgs, that would be RAD. Is this possible? It seems in the system menu I cant set a slot to respond to ALL, and have to select 1 channel. Does this mean the entire G2 can receive 4 midi channels at the most?
Thanks in advance for the help!

You can use MIDI CTRL and RCV modules to listen to any channel you want. Maybe the note zone module could be of good use, that one can translate MIDI channels and it can be set up to respond to note ranges. When you drop a module into the patch and then hit F1 you'll get into the module help - it's not too bad ... _________________ Jan

When you set them to "this" it will map to the channel that was selected for the slot the patch happens to be in. _________________ Jan
