Who is developing on the Chameleon? |
 |

Well we have a list of owners, how about a list of Developers.
I have started the long and winding path, and am fully up to speed with making the Chameleon get quite hot, yet do nothing worthwhile! |

I am, after a fashion. It's just not going terribly fast...
Fairly comfortable with the C interface but so far I've only managed to do the most trivial things with the DSP. |

sounds similar, I can just get the DSP to "hang" while a stack dump is displayed in the log.
Heady stuff! |

I've re-started my work on Phoenix and Wave 2.C.
I might also dig out 'Qube' and pick that up once I've got more done with the two above.

I've been working my way though the examples and the projects that have the sources available. Mostly modifying and hacking my way through. Messing up and learning from mistakes as I go. |

No specific projects going on here ATM, but I've been using it quite a bit for testing out various algorithms and synt/fx ideas over the years. There'll probably be more chameleon coding for me in the future - I plan to set up a permanent Chamelon development station in the new studio (which will have to be built first...).

I have to say that it is exciting to see some interest in "legacy" hardware like this. I wish that I had the programming chops to dig into this beasty. Unfortunately, I am more of a user than a dabbler. Maybe that will change with time, but for now I unfortunately have to reap the benefits of enthusiasts like yourselves. Some skins that I would LOVE to see for the Chameleon (which I am sure it is capable of):
- an audio scrambler/granular effect (where it takes an audio stream and can chop it into fragments or hold samples for "glitches")
-a voice synthesis module similar to the speakjet synthesizer chip
-a percussion synthesis drum brain (triggered by midi notes)
The wishlist could go on and on... |
