Are you able to create a Bank dump to your computer?
Sometimes it helps to re-install the OS of the synth...
You'll lose the Patches though.

Thank you for your reply.
I'm sorry, I have no idea what a bulk dump is.
I never had to install the OS of the Micro, unless you mean install the
original software editor onto my old 9.22 Imac.
I just fired up my old Imac to get the job done.
I curse Clavia. They had the greatest system in the world and they
screwed us all. This shouldn't be rocket science. I'm a musician.
Again, thank you for your time. |

as a musician, i read the manual too. also i go further with the software then open and save under the file(drop down) item. you can find the bulk dump(or 1 dump) under the item synth(drop down) at the top. i think you are very easy with cursing clavia my friend. |

Mr. Kuit,
In the Nomad software there is no Synth at the top to do what you said to do.
As a musician I spend way to much time trying to TWEAK software than
playing music.
If your company cared about it's users, they would have TWEAKED the Nord Modular rather than assume we wanted to buy another $2500 synth.
I applaud the people who are trying to make this software happen. They have the loyalty, devotion and insight to keep a great product from disappearing due to planned obsolesence. |

Micro-Nomad, stoppped being able to "Save in Synth" Subject description: Re: to Jan |

Jan
I don't know what changed, one day it worked the next day it didn't.
I try to save in synth and sometimes nothing happens, sometimes the micro
responds by the readout changing to two lines --, like it worked, but it dosn't
save. And sometimes "Error" comes up with a blank page where the
patch was.
I downloaded the latest version. There are no messages except "Error"
sometimes.
I'm glad I have my old Mac with the good old Editor.
Clavia didn't realize what they had.

Wish I could say something sensible here ... you could try the different MIDI tools that were described in some of the threads in this sub-forum ... maybe ... but I don't really know what I'm talking about ... _________________ Jan

I had to download all of the Java Midi stuff to get it to work months ago.
I will do that again when I have the time to start over.
Thanks for your time.

Mr. Blue Hell,
I hate to be a pain in the ass but,
Could you walk me through the procedure of saving in synth?
I have the patch that I want to save on the screen in Nomad.
I click on save in synthesizer under file, a window comes up with a
likeness of the micro and 3 little boxes to check, Save in slot A (Slot 1),
Save in Bank, so I check that box and scroll down to the patch that I want
to replace, click on the third little box Open Patch, and click on Save.
Sometimes the Micro readout goes -- like it's working, but when I go to the patch, it's still the same.
Is there something that I am doing or not doing.

Sorry, a couple of days ago I moved my NM Classic out of the way, so I can't try anything right now. _________________ Jan

Ok just went and checked this out this morning while getting a random itch to play with my Micro Mod..
Did some stuff and noticed the following behavior (please shoot me if this has already been posted)...
You cannot save any patch opened from your hard drive directly to a Bank# in the Nord. It has to be opened and saved to Slot A and ONLY Slot A first.
After its saved in Slot A, make sure youre still on that patches tab in Nomad (the patch name should now have an (A) after it telling you its in Slot A)..
NOW you can select Save in Synthesizer and it will go into whatever bank you select..
You cannot simultaneously do Save in Slot A and Save in Bank either...
It will only go to Slot A then..
After you load the patch in Slot A and are ready to commit it permanently to the Nord, when you go to save it in the Bank, make sure the Save in Slot A box is unchecked or youll just sit and run around in circles getting nowhere..
This was on a PPC Mac running 10.5.5 so Im not sure if Intel will make a difference..
One new thing, when I fired up Nomad today it wouldnt see my Nord or my AMT8. I updated MMJ to 0.87 and still no worky..
I grabbed the latest OSXMidiSPI from a post here (0.1c) and now all of a sudden osxmidispi is working. It never worked before and Nomad only worked with MMJ but now its the opposite..
Maybe one of them funny updates Apple does to Java fixed it...
Im stoked now Ive made a bunch of patches in Nomad since getting it to work earlier this year and now I can finally upload em to my Micro Mod!!! |

Thank you for the detailed report.
Considering osxmidispi, it seems it was only compiled for intel before....
