Hi! I was happy to find there was an alternative editor for the NM as Clavia dropped it..

Ok, so this is my second time trying to get Nomad to work on my system. I'm getting nowhere fast so I would be grateful for information on how to proceed.

I downloaded the .dmg file called Nomad-0_3_02 (the most recent I presume) from Sourceforge and copied all the files included to a subdir in my Applications directory. Starting the Nomad.app file takes me to the GUI, but here's where I get stuck. I can't access the Preferences pane where I suppose the MIDI setup is located? I didn't find any install docs included in the release either.

Perhaps this is a topic that has been discussed before, but this application seems to be very system-specific so I figured it was worth a shot asking here.

Finally, my specs: Mac Pro with Leopard 10.5.5 and Midiman Midisport 4x4 USB midi interface. I can use the beta from Clavia but after a short while of doing so I feel like throwing heavy things at my computerscreen for some strange reason.

Kind regards,

Johan

Hello,

This probably means nomad does not recognize your midi interface. You should install a midi device provider:
http://nmedit.sourceforge.net/userpage/help.html#osx-midi

For OSXmidi spi, try this version:
http://ruinwesen.com/support-files/osxmidispi-0.1c.zip

You can try first the previous midi service provider. There is a readme in the archive for the installation. Then, try the ones linked on nomad page.

good luck and come back if problems keep going.

Julien

Thanks for your reply Julien,

I tried all of the extensions unsuccessfully. Regarding installation - if I understand it correctly - only the associated files with the releases needs to be copied to /Library/Java/Extensions directory? Or is further installation needed?

Thanks for taking your time.
