Good words |
 |
|
Some of my favourite words are:
trampoline
hearth
plinth
apeth
lebensraum (in fact, nearly all German words are good)
And here are some really good made up words:
pnotsk
gristicackle
nyoisnyep
fromk
plool
mrarulask
It's really easy to make good words by inserting consonants into existing ones.

Yes yes Optimus Prime! Transforming words is a wonderful scat routine I *try* to pursue when playing drums (since I don't have a band here when I practice). So I just pour drivel out that simultaneously resembles a harmony, melody, and words. Made up words, which is why I reply. I should record myself to see what it is I actually say. Besides, it's sooo much more fun than doing the usual "Bop Bop Bop boooom, chicha Boom, chick-a, chika".
How do you use your words? |

Babbling nonsense is very entertaining, particularly when drunk. Although most of the time, my babbles don't really involve recognisable language sounds. Just odd noises. Hurray! _________________ This message was brought to you from Beyond The Grave. |

I don't read too good, so some of these words don't do it for me in print.
I would like to hear recordings of you guys speaking, or should I say, uttering, these and other words. Then maybe they could be used as raw materials in some sort of modern day sound text compositions.
Maybe this could form the basis of our first electro-music.com collaborative composing project. Seems this is very overdue.
I think something like Tim Thompson's Composer's Quarry might be just the ticket. http://nosuch.com/music/quarry/
What do you guys think? Before we hack up special software, we could just post Nuggets (pieces of "raw" material), Trinkets (works in progress that can be reused as Nuggets), and Gems (finished compositions), right here on this topic.
Any thoughts? |

In the mid-eighties, Lars Roar Langslet, who was Norwegian Minister of Culture (sic) at the time, pissed off a group of radical poets, the so-called "Stunt-Poets" to such a degree that they confiscated certain letters from his name, to be returned at a later date if he should improve his politics. For the remainder of his tenure he was known as Ars Oar Angst. _________________ Where there are too many policemen, there is no liberty. Where there are too many soldiers, there is no peace. What a phenomenal idea. I love the idea that talking bollocks could be the basis of some wacky electronic composition. I shall record myself talking shite just as soon as I can get my microphone rigged. Can I upload it somewhere here? _________________ This message was brought to you from Beyond The Grave. |

Not so much good words, but a darned good sequence of words nonetheless:
"The image of a finite subcover of the preimage of an open cover of the image is a finite subcover of the open cover of the image."
Topology anyone?
