Dear Friends,
Hello,

I have a request about some electronic tunes.

It's a very log time I'm looking for this answer and at last a German guy said that i should ask my request in this forum.

Here are a few tunes that I'm looking for their name or composer.

Just check and see if you can recognize the composer or track names.

http://www.4shared.com/file/58527784/57d46088/Tunes.html

The tracks: 1,5,6,7,8,9, and 10 are really important to me.
So please check these ones carefully.

The music is mostly for late 70's and early 80's.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,
Maestro.

I downloaded the archive and checked it out. It appears to contain legitimate MP3 files with music - I played them, and nothing bad happened. (On my Mac, at least.)

But they're so badly recorded and digitized that it's almost impossible to hear the music in some cases - they sound like they were recorded off the radio to cassette 25 years ago, transferred to another cassette, left in the attic for a while, then converted to MP3 at low bitrates.

The ones you can hear sound like cheesy Euro synth-pop from the early 80s.

I removed the link from the post, I see no need to link through link-protector unless the link points to copyrighted material, spam, nasty stuff or whatever for which the poster doesn't want to be held responsible.

When I was wrong and the link was legit please post a direct link to the material.

You did, but if it's a Trojan, it isn't for Macintosh. On Mac, all you see are some MP3s. I checked the contents of the archive before decompressing, of course, and saw that there was nothing executable in there, and that the MP3s were not disguised applications. Opening them in QuickTime player just played audio; nothing executed. Watching Activity Monitor during that time revealed no suspicious processes. (Nothing can execute on my Mac without my permission anyway.)

And, at any rate, there are no known vectors for injecting Trojans into OS X from real MP3 files. There was a sort-of Trojan a couple of years ago disguised as an MP3 that made that rounds, but it was just an app with it's file extension changed to MP3, and you still had to give it permission to execute.

You're a Windows guy, I assume? What did you see in the RAR that made you suspicious?

Just you check the rar contents listing

What showed up here was some dotted os x app and lotsa framework stuff
All dotted of course ( .applicaton.app equals invisible ) but then the path to the lot would be user/downloads
When I saw that in the contents I ditched the file.

And no.. all OS X here.. ( well.. not 100% true.. I do bootcamp XP and Vista now and then )

btw.. I DLd this again from the same link and this time it contained what looks like mp3 files

So.. the two first files of the exact same size and name contains weirdness and the last version seems kosher..

Shocked

Right.. so.. who will be president?

I still think that Dolly, the cloned sheep, is a safe choice.. like.. we already know it is a clone..

Sounds about right.. the little I can make sense any of sounds like early/mid 80s stuff. I had hoped for some rare Hildegard Knef, Hazy Osterwald Jet Set, Rolf Wilhelm or Dieter Reith.
Or Ambros Seelos!

Honestly, I didn't see any of that in the contents, and the extracted files appeared legitimate.

Of course, everyone should be careful when downloading randomly-posted archives, but it seemed like a valid question to me.

And I apologize for the Windows slur. ^_^

Hello Friends,
Thanks for checking my files.

I just used link protector to make along link shorter also if you pay attention to the real link which is post it here you can see under the DOWNLOAD button there is a very nice sentence.

It's: " Tested by Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2008-08-10 "

Each time you start downloading or uploading in 4shared hosts this Great Anti Virus checks the files.

That's why uploaded my file in 4Shares host otherwise I could upload it in Rapidshare easily.

Anyway, here is the direct link again:

http://www.4shared.com/file/58527784/57d46088/Tunes.html

I also noticed some names here which are as follows:

Hildegard Knef
Hazy Osterwald Jet Set
Rolf Wilhelm
Dieter Reith.
Ambros Seelos
Christer Bladin

Shall I check all these composers and albums by them to get my answer?

I hope some here can help me to find the real composers.

The quality of these files is bad because they are recorded on Magnetic Cassette from TV and Radio years ago.

There is no way to get a better quality of these files,so please check them carefully and let me know if you can recognize them.

Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Maestro.

Nope.. don´t.. you will hate them all all. And these don`t have anything to do with what you posted.

Thanks for your reply.
So it seems that I should still wait for the answer.

I hope someone can find the answer to my request.

I think that electronic music CRITICS,who check different albums to be able to compare various artists and albums and release their idea bout them can be very helpful in this case.

But he problem is finding someone who is a real Electronic music Critic and freak.

Maybe you know a veteran, who is working for an Electronic Music Magazine, that can solve this problem.

Kind Regards,
Maestro.
