Simple controller, must send Note On

I'm looking for something I can use to trigger samples on an old AKAI RS5000 sampler. It's capable of very long samples and I want to roll them in as backing tracks but I need a button to push! Ideal would be something fairly simple with a few note buttons and a few knobs.

I'm thinking the Behringer B-CONTROL NANO BCN44 might do the job (for about $50). Any other suggestions? On another board somebody suggested m-audio trigger finger but that's overkill for me.

FYI, that sampler is the extent of my foray into MIDI, I'm not planning to "go MIDI" so I want to keep this fairly simple.
