Hello everybody!

I am in possession of a Nord Electro 2 and a Nord Lead 2. Love these machines to death, they work great and I really enjoy playing them. The only thing is I can't to my own satisfaction play anything resembling a mellotron , which is my all-time favorite instrument. I'm considering buying a Manikin Memotron but it'll be a while before I can build up the funds for one. So! Any ideas on how I could get mellotron sounds into my Nords? I'm at a loss here, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! /Oskar

welcome MrGreenGene

If the Mellotron is your favorite and the Electro too, why not go for the Nord Electro 3, which has all original Mellotron sounds on board...!?! Cool The designers of the Mellotron sold these to Clavia.
The Nord Electro3 can do the same as your Electro2 and some more, because it also has the Farfisa and Vox organs and all the samples of the Nord Stage!
Together with the Nordlead you have a winning team!

See http://www.clavia.se/main.asp?tm=Products&clpm=Nord_Electro_3

[Mod] Jan, could you move this to 137? [/mod]

Not a bad idea, the thought has crossed my mind. But alas, it once again falls on the money. The sound library for the Electro 3 is available for download free at clavias homepage but I don't think the files are compatible to the Electro 2. So, back to square 1.

The NE3 samples aren't compatible to the NE2 for sure...

Still the Electro2 wouldn't contribute much to the Mellotron sound. The Hammond part isn't able to use something like an Envelope, so it all has to be done by the NordLead. Of course there are some factory Peformances which produce a nice string sound...

Anyway, I'll would try to sell the NE2 and go for the NE3, or did I tell you that already Cool
