pic burners Subject description: specifically for a PIC16F628-20P |

hey gents
i am making a little something something for some friends and i need to burn some code to a PIC. this is a bit beyond my field, if i can even call analog tron my field
ive found a few setups i can build but im not sure about the sorts of burners for different sorts of PICs.
i think ill be burning some midibox stuff later down the track so it would be handy if the burner i have can be somewhat versatile, if that is possible.
any tips? _________________ problemchild

some research has pointed me toward the MBHP Burner module which comes with a adaptor for 16f88 pics. funny i actually just realised that i need to burn some of these too.
http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp_burner.html
ive checked the pin outs of the 16f88 and 16f628 and they seem compatable in regards to the adaptor connections. would there be any fundamental differences between these pic which would mean the MBHP burner + adpater would not work? _________________ problemchild

Hey Luka,
Just a quick reply:
I've not checked those PICs you've listed, no time for datasheets tonight I'm afraid. But I've tried a few non-Microchip/DIY PIC burners and the MBHP is definitely the one I'm most happy with. The best thing about the design is that the voltage level is adjustable, so you can do 16X series and 18F series with no problems.

Hi,
I'm afraid I don't, I bought this from Mikes Elektronik seite (in Germany). I think in the States SmashTV's web shop has them.....
If you need a tutorial on doing the ground plane in Eagle, I found an excellent guide last week. I will dig out a link at home tonight, not on my home PC currently....
