Hey,

I'm relatively new to circuit bending and I'm not sure how to go about messing with (over or under clocking) crystal clocks in things like Yamaha keyboards.

Do you remove and replace them with something? Is there a standard way to go about this?

Thanks

well an easy thing to do is find another crystal osc and set it up so you can use a switch to switch between the original clock and the new clock.

Maybe get more crystals and a roto switch

Thanks!

Instead of having multiple crystals, is there some sort of chip that acts like a voltage controlled oscillator that I could just hook up to a pot that would do the same thing?

Yep, there is. The 74LS624. You can find the circuit description here
