Subject description: Looking for metallic/elastic/ring/resonation effect for drums

I'm looking for a vst to make my drums sound like they resonate. Autechre have the effect i'm looking for on quite a lot of their music LP5 EP7 etc. Nord modular had something called a string oscillator that had a damper which you could feed drums through which gave a good replication of what I need but I no longer have my nord modular. The comb filter on the nord wave was also close to what I am after.

I am looking for a vst effect that will make my drums stand out like they have bounce/ring/metallic/elastic/resonation.

What do autechre do for this effect? Is it a short delay? Is it some sort of resonator? or is it a comb filter, or something else?

Thanks

There is something in Ableton Live that's called resonator (I think). Googling around a bit I found that people seems to be using it for drums. I'm not by my computer at the moment so I can't check it out.

I'm guessing you can built this sort of thing using delays with feedback, if you have that kind of toolbox at hand.

Edit: if you haven't checked out Live you can download a trial version where you can have a look.

I tried Live's Resonator, but its too over the top. It doesn't give what I am looking for. I'm thinking it is more like a comb filter effect that i'm looking for maybe.

I am particularly looking for exactly the same as what autechre have used on a lot of their drums. It gives a rubbery kind of punch to the percussion sounds they use.

well autechre use the elektron machinedrum and monomachine quite a lot like and both of these boxes have a nice delay line built in that can quite easily be used as a comb filter. I'd start there with a simple comb filter and see where that gets you.
