Hey ppl.

I just recently build a MFOS WP-20 mini synth..

Very nice [borat voice Very Happy]

Anyway's I've added a pot instead of the fixed resistor to have a "repeat rate" pot instead of the poorly timed, rarely working repeat function.. This is a MUST HAVE modification in my mind! I still need to make a CV sequencer for it...
Has anyone else build one of these ? Are there some other mod's that I missed?

I invite you all to have a look at it

Have a nice day...

awesome stuff man! i've been very impressed with your work the past few weeks, you've definitely been on a noise onslaught lately, congrats!

Did you build this thing from those low definition old skool schematics off the mfos site or did you find some newer schemmy that are a bit easier to read?

I'd love to take a crack at it once i finish the sk-1 thats been sitting in my room for months now

Thank you very much! Nice to hear that some appriciate what I do Very Happy I actually have have some other stuff I havent shown yet.. This includes a circuit bent analog keyboard, a circuit bent guitar and the crushed glass dual tube oscillator, but that one is not working as well as I want it to.. I've also killed for USD 200-300 worth of pedals, the last 2 months. That stings like a bitch Crying or Very sad Yes it has been an onslaught for sure!

I used the circuit board layout from the MFOS site and the parts placement pic.. Easy enough! But I don't think the schematics are bad.. They show quite well on my laptop..

Damn if I had any of the SK series I wouldn't be able to keep my hands of it at all !! But I guess we all have ongoing projects that keep getting pushed to the bottom of the list.

Hi Lofi Ninja,

I've started building a WP-20 also, it's going pretty slowly at the moment due to work/family issues but it's getting there! Have a look at my website, I put another couple of photos on there yesterday.

Hello, By-Tor..

Very nice to see other people building the WP-20 too.. I think it's an overlooked classic! Anyways I'm sorry to tell you that your page is not showing in Firefox, I just get an "exceeded time limit" thingie.. Maybe you can post some pic's right here in this thread? Are you going the point to point route or are you doing the circuit board thing like me ?

Wow, this thread is going off topic..

Ok, I tried again and it works.. I guess my shitty broadband provider was fucking around again..

@ By-Tor: WOW that case is NICE! I hope mine will look as good when I'm finished! I would have used the same knobs all over thou, but to each their own Very Happy

Thanks for the positive response everyone.

The knobs are not finalised yet, I just happened to have them laying around, I'll probably go for all the same with maybe a white line on them.

I build 3 of these, all on stripboard Smile Used another LFO circuit (with selectable range) than the one provided. Added CV and GATE inputs (of course) This is a very easy build but with a remarkable result. It sounds great compared to the very elementary design! The other two WP20's I build has CV inputs for all modules, a Sub Oscillator/Divider, a ring modulator and a CV mixer along with some other mods. I'll try your mod with the pot instead of a switch for the EG Repeat function. I haven't had the Repeat function work more than once lol.
