N00b question: Nord Lead 2 Freezing |
 |
|
Hi guys, first post!
I just bought a used Nord Lead 2 keyboard and I'm loving it. However, it freezes every 10-15 mins or so (i knew this when I bought it). The notes hang, and none of the controls respond. I have to power off and back on for it to return to its normal operation.
The problem is particularly bad in performance mode, and it specifically crashes every time I hit a key on program A9.
I think it's a firmware problem.
I'm running Firmware 1.06, which appears to be the latest one.
My question: Do any of you know how (or if) can I reset/reload/order a new firmware, even if it is the same version?
Thanks! |

Hi Wout, thanks for replying!
No, no MIDI cables connected. Just power, and Mono output. I've also used headphones instead. |

Well try this...
Remove a possible PCMCIA card.
Press [Shift+ModEnv] buttons together.
After a while the LCD should jump to 1.
Check A9 again... |

Cool!! Does this restore factory settings?
I'll do this tonight and report back.
Thanks for your help! |

OK tried it, aaaaaaaaand still the same
The LCD jumped back to 1, then I went to A9, pressed a key and it froze.
I'm noticing that it usually happens when there are too many keys pressed (except for A9).
Any other suggestions? |

And how about Performance B4?
It's just like A9 a 4 Slot Performance. I'm not talking about abrupt stopping Voices, just about freezing: no nothing at all anymore. A total crash...
Maybe there is something wrong with the Voice allocation or in the way how this is handled by your NL. Repairs have to be done by a Nord Service station. Maybe contact Clavia Support (info@clavia.se), ask if this could be the trouble and what and where to get it repaired.

Thanks for your help Wout. I'll see if I can replicate the problem in a different program.
I've also contacted Clavia support. |

Keep us informed about the project and how it could be solved.
Clavia is monitoring this forum, so probably they know the problem already.
