Nord Lead 2 Arpeggiator cuts off notes ? |
 |
|
Hi,
i got a Nice Nord Lead 2 keyboard in addition to my NL1. after playing around with it for a while i noticed something strange :
when i use the arpeggiator and and hold one note constantly down and then play two or three keys on top of that it seems that sometimes the notes are being cut off for a few miliseconds. my nl1 doe not behave like that so its a bit strange.
it seems to be ok in performance mode, this only happens in single mode.
i tried to switch between unison and poly but it didnt help.
anyone had a similar issue ?
thanx

'Muted notes' can occure using the Arpeggiator, but there isn't enough information in your post to replicate the set up on the synth here, so...
Mostly this 'cutting' is due to the number of available voices, but then your NordLead1 should suffer much more of this trouble and as you write it doesn't
Is there any Midi connection, like a Midi Through coming from a computer? Check if the troubles are still there after you unplugged the Midi cables.

hi,
yeah its a bit hard to explain whats happening really, maybe i should post a soundfile later. the nord lead behaves like that even with no midi connection.
first i thought it was because of the unison mode, but when i switch it off its still the same...

I tried to play the files...
The only thing I can think of is the Midi (sequencer) is triggering at the same moment as the Arpeggiator is... and the Arp usualy plays only one note at the time, so changing the Rate a little, mostly one value higher, can avoid this, at least, at my set up it worked.
BTW the 'blocking' is much more when set in Poly mode.
Maybe doing something with the trigger moments. I suggest to set the MidiNote a little earlier to trigger. Note the Arp waits until it's own trigger to fire.

I can't get your link to open, but I remember having some problems with the arpeggiator when using a foot switch.
Also, as Wout says, if you are using a sequencer with quantised notes, that can interfere with the timing of the arp. _________________ Muied Lumens Sub Forum
