Importing pre-looped samples into Wave Subject description: Nord Wave Sample Editor question |
 |
|
| Has anyone been able to successfully import a sample into the Wave that already had it's loop established, ei, a wave file from a sample library or a converted soundfont ? I hate having to recreate a perfect loop in a sample when it already has a perfect loop. I've brought a sample into SoundForge, made note of it's sample start point, and tried to enter this into the parameters in the Wave's Sample Editor, but it doesn't hit the mark, so I still have to use the Wave Sample Editor's crossfade settings. |

hey, have the same problem.
Think you can't import loops anyway, just soundfiles for editing...
If you figure out how to do, or if you find another solution please let us know!
btw: I posted a question some weeks ago about importing preset sampler programs into the editor. Do you have an idea if that is possible? |

I contacted Clavia about a more protective packaging issue and also mentioned the import idea. They said they are considering it for an update.
You would think that you could enter the loop start location and end sample location and set loop cross fade at zero and it would match a pre-looped sample (with location data nabbed from SoundForge or another app), but I get a click at the loop point. If you set the wave editor's parameters at least close to the imported sound's loop parameters, you can generally get a quick good loop with a short crossfade. But it would definitely be easier not to have to go to that much trouble. I do give Clavia kudos for giving us a decent sample editor at least. I will be generally creating new samples rather than using libraries as I like to be very original, but I do like to use some other software occasionally to make my samples and loops. |

I know I'm a little late, but...

Although not owning a Wave myself I surely can imagine SoundForge is almost a natural tool to use when making loops. Anyway I hope Clavia comes up with a good implementation of the import issue.
