I am indeed interested in putting together a pedalboard that encapsulates my guitar sound, so that I'm not dependent on a particular traditional format guitar amp for "my" sound. This EHX solid-state amp could be a fit along those lines.

I don't see/hear enough for this to interest me more than the Rock Block - a 1-watt tube amp-in-a-pedal with both speaker out and line out (a cab could be connected to the speaker out for guitar<->speaker interaction - aka feedback) , but interesting development nonetheless.

Neato. Along the same line, one day I'd like to work on "micropedals", classic pedals that are constructed in tiny format using modern components. So small they could be mounted on the guitar or whatever.

I thought I read that Dan Armstrong made effects units that were designed to be installed onboard a guitar, but I can't find the info online.

These guys sell effects kits for onboard guitar mounting;

One of the coolest demos I saw on Youtube was of a custom guitar that had a Zvex Fuzz Factory built into the guitar.
