dude, you're way too paranoid about getting a rebox. Wink
I can't open up the file, I'm on a pc and the zip won't open once I dl'd it because it's done with a Mac.
How did everything look to you, did you see signs of retaping? did the manual plastic bag look like it had it retaped? how about the wrapping around the Andromeda, did it look ripped? does it smell new?
These are things I usually look for.

Relax and enjoy your Andromeda, even if by chance it was reboxed it's most likely from the new batch because the last batch was dried up for many months before they released this one.

Go play your Andy and have fun. Smile

Hmmm I'd like to get this zip file working so that everyone can download it to verify their respective a6 was not a re-box.

Can anyone recommend any archiving programs for osx that will create a zip file in a format readable by windows users?

definitely had a chemical new synth smell to it. There was one odd thing in the box there was like some piece of thread and like part of a plant, just curious as to how it got in there because the big box, inside the outer box was sealed...

definitely paranoid about getting a re-box but it looks like this is a new one.

If anyone can recommend a program for OSX so that I can make a zip file which is readable for windows users please let me know. I'd like to make that zip accessible to everyone so that ppl can verify they didn't get a reboxed a6.

I was able to open the zip file no problem in Windows XP. I also was able to open it in WinZip. Just ignore the _MacOSX folders.

I can't tell if it was reboxed or not, but it's possible that it was opened up for inspection or something.

Where did you buy it? Online or local?

Running linux and had no problems opening the file.

Your A6 looks just as mine did when it arrived in November. The A6 has great smell when its been on for a bit.

I bought it from Guitar Center. It came from the www.guitarcenter.com inventory however. None of the stores had any in stock.

if memory serves me correct i remember it originally was coming out of Lenox Missouri

Hey man.Congratulations on getting an andromeda.I am glad you gave in and got the thing.

To me it looks like your unit is brand new.You said it was shipped from lenox,MI.That is the giant warehouse I mentioned in your other thread.Guitarcenter,music123,woodwind and brasswind, musicians friend and I am sure a few more all ship almost everything from that one warehouse.

Both my andromeda came from there. They were both brand new.

The only thing I would worry about is either getting the one I sent back or getting one that has sat in the warehouse for a few years.

The serial number should tell you if its an old unit or not.The serial number thread here seems pretty spot on with the way they are reading the numbers. There should be a 08 in the first sequence of numbers.I need to add my s/n to that thread.

Anyway,im pretty sure your unit is brand new.Was the innner box retaped? If not I think your good.Your pictures look just like mine did when I unboxed both of them.

Good luck and have fun.Your time of worrying is over.I was just like you were when I first got mine.I was worried about getting a lemon, a rebox or just a super old unit, but everything worked out and I am happy.

Feel free to PM me like you mentioned in the other thread.

I'm really amped up about it, started going through the reference manual.

I believe it was brand new because of the chemical new-synth type smell. and the plastic wasn't sealed per say but it didn't look to have any other creases then the original creases.

i totally agree, i was super paranoid about getting a re-box. Just the whole hassle and confrontation would've been a nightmare.

from the back of my andromeda above the barcode but still on that same white sticker my s/n = (21) A10806045701012

there was tape it wasn't an air-tight plastic container that you had to rip/cut open. Having said that the plastic didn't have any additional creases/folds that made me think it was re-boxed.

thanks again glad to have feedback from the pics. Hopefully it allows other a6 owners to verify that theirs is indeed a new a6.

When you pay retail price for something that is sold as new.... you hope as a consumer/customer that it is new (perhaps you are different and like paying retail/new prices and getting something used lol). Instead of just hoping for this I wanted it confirmed.

Also I read about some people paying for new a6's and getting re-boxed a6's.

Your concerns are warranted.
