momentary pushbuttons? |
 |
|
I'm looking for some nice pushbuttons for my Klee. I see lots of cheap little plastic pushbuttons, or big clunky momentary footswitches, and then these huge things that would be at home on the sides of a pinball machine... but none of them look right for me. I'd like something retro (more 50's/60's than 70's/80's), maybe metal body even if the button itself is plastic, but something with style. Anyone have any recommendations? I'll need two of them, Euro suppliers preferred.
best!

Hmmm....style aside, not so ergonomic for the "step forward" function. I like the buttons Thomas White used here:

Yeah that looks about right, however total for two switches is insanely stupid:
Goods Total £1.22
Delivery TNT Global (Air) - GBP £24.85
So I never order from Rapid unless I know I'll be visiting the UK to pick it up! _________________ Esoteric drones and nonlinear distortion

oh wow! I could order them, and send them to you at cost, I get free shipping from Rapid to me, and I can't imagine it would be more than a couple of quid to post to you in Berlin... let me know via PM...

they're cheap, and well, cheap.
Seriously, I bought some but haven't put them to service yet. they are not suitable for a very thick panel, but they worked OK in my dotcom panels. |

Thx, I'll keep it in mind if I decide to do a Futurelec order. How thick is "thick"? My panels are 2mm. _________________ Esoteric drones and nonlinear distortion

Mine are 2mm as well. I left off the little ring they give you and just used the nut on the back by itself. There might not be enough thread for a MOTM thickness panel though - seems like it wouldn't be enough. Not sure why they can't put a little more thread on there...
this is a MIDI controller module where I mounted them but don't have it wired yet:

Speaking of momentary switches - does anyone know where I can find some in the UK that have a clicking action rather than a spring action? |

The part I used that's identical to Thomas White's buttons is from Digikey - part #EG1938-ND. They also come in other colors - that number is for red. Good, solid momentary pushbutton - I use them a lot. Digikey may have a euro distribution center, I'm not sure. |
