Nord Lead 3 crashes all the time Subject description: NL3 out of control/panic button does not respond. . . |

I have OS 1:20 I am not sure that is the latest OS for NL3 if is not this could be the reason of the permanent crashing..? or maybe the kind of patches i have created with too much release time..? shouldn't be
Could be the internal battery...? for how long the internal battery last..?
Also the first black key on the left side works only with in certain sounds ..
I'll appreciate any help/suggestions.
Thank you very much |

Could it be mains power related? People have been complaining about mains issues re. the NL3.
I'm not 100% sure of the internals of NL3, but on other synths Clavia does not use an internal battery at all, but rather flash memory is used which needs to external power to remember things.
The black key probably is a physical keyboard issue ... sometimes there are such issues with the fatar keyboards ... my Nord Modular had it too that keys would go bad, after the keyboard was replaced all such issues were gone. _________________ Jan

thanks for you replay Jan.
I don't know how the power can affect the sound in such way..
i mean, what i mean by crushing is that the sound get stack as if the release of
the key and the sustain and the decay were all the way up, some of my patches are but the synth crashes with any sort of sounds..
I have performed only a few times live and i don't remember if crashed or not, i was very cautious about it but in my studio crashes like crazy, any time i play and move the knobs or even if i don't..
If it is a power related thing do you think that replacing the mains will fix the problem? it has to be rewired?

Mostly when a Lead3 chrashes due to a bad power performance the sound jumps back to the opening Patch when booting. Does it?

No, it does not jump to the first patch.
What it does is it get stuck sounding in the current sound as if the release and decay were all the way up ..
Sometimes the panic button stop it but usually it doesn't and i have to reboot the unit.
This week i started using the NL3 as a midi controller; i love this keyboard and i don't want to get rid of it, i don't want to send it to Sweden for repair either, i wish i can find a technician in NYC..
Maybe the bad key can be repaired easier then the crushing problem..
but the crushing thing still remains a a main issue to use this keyboard freely
or perform live... |
