Nord Wave Synth Subject description: Programming |

Does anyone fancy designing and sharing Nord wave program files? using only factory preset sounds!!
I'm sure loads of you have your own downloaded samples instead, but together I'm sure we can use this synth to its maximum capability.
Looking for some Trance, Vox, atmospheric, Jean Michel Jarre, enigma kinda sounds that you may have created.
As I am away from home this christmas I will start to upload a few home created patches in a week or two.
Best Regards

Yes, they are!
I don't own a Nord Wave, so I can't bring any input.
But regarding the Nord Modular Classic and G2 and the NordLead I know you have to push a bit. People must see the nice things first before they will join in. At the moment it's only "Why isn't this or that working?"
Bring in a positive sound and give it some time things will start rolling.

Yeah I hear what your saying,
I notice a hell of a lot interest and links to the Nord Lead and G2 synth, hell loads of patches being shared. Must be that the NW is probebly the latest synth from Nord and needs to be escalated a bit more. _________________ Regards

It's worth a go, although the first thing I (and many other Wave users) did upon first use of the synth is rip out a lot of the less essential samples, either swapping them for as much of the mellotron library as possible, user waves, or a mix of the two. Which obviously makes sharing such sounds problematic to say the least.
I'd happily share my FM/VA/swav patches though very few of them are from scratch, they're just manipulated versions of the 'super sounds' presets. |

Hi Fiberman,
Not had the NW long only about two months if that, Don't really want to rip out the preset samples just yet. Shame Clavia didn't give us a more memory for samples than what we were given taking the price into consideration, shame the polyphony is crap too.
Clavia have updated their website and in Nord Wave/NL2X/NL3 library section there is loads of samples taken from the NL2X/NL3 synths to download free. I downloaded some of them to the NW and some of the pads are quite nice. However with the NW preset stuff thrown in the synth with this box of tricks you can create almost anything, just needs a little time and patients getting the sound you want, I guess that's what a real synth is all about. I've stored a few NL2X samples in the Wave but want to get the most out of the machine first, like you say without the preset samples swapping .nwp files is limited. _________________ Regards

| Patience is the key with the Wave. Yes there's the odd bit of ear candy on the presets, but there's so much it can do that none of the presets really touch on - there's a huge array of inbetweeny 'is it digital / is it not' kind of sounds in there, and a lot of fun to be had taming the 'multi' and the 'vocal' filters. |

Also noticed that the NW are now shipped with all 8 banks filled with presets, no room now for storing your own sounds unless you overwrite the existing patch..........DUMB !! _________________ Regards

Surely you can dump these first to your computer, shouldn't it?

Yes you can, pain in the backside thou. Mind you i've heard the rest of the sounds from the clavia site and the majority of the sounds are crap. Glad my two bank are empty. _________________ Regards
