hello all!

I´m planning a new live set up consisting on a G1 Kb playing self-generating drones, one looper, a small loop sampler, plus little fx..quite simple setup.

want to work with two slots on the G1, routed each one to two stereo outputs..but I find a (common?) problem on the nord... when changing programs by hand...there´s an annoying gap-break on global sound . I noticed this thing since the old days on the micro...so honestly I don´t know if this is a small bug on these units. Usually program changes on other synths are smoother
in fact, I´ve on the sampler-looper small loops from the G1 for each patch for a "clean" transition between them

any tip, suggestion is welcome, as always!

best,

pug

hi pug,
yes, this is a common problem. the nm has to re-calculate the dsp for a new patch. my sugestion is, make a fade out with the nm and a fade in with the looper. i work with more nms and a g2, so when changing pchs, i fade out with 1 of them, load new stuff, and fade in again, next nm the same. g2 is my master.
now i'm busy setting up sets with ableton live. maybe that is something for you as a master clock and loop player?

hi roland
thanks a lot for your reply!
as you say, the fade in-out tip is right choice.
that´s the easy way, because I don´t use sync´ed stuff here, just improvising with simple droney patches and/or adding layers of sounds (field recordings on the sp, and long loops with a jamman). using the engine+controller would be so nice, but want to keep it simple (and easy to carry on)
ultra-quiet music, but it can be funny Smile

all the best,
pug
