a few questions i hope u guys can help me with :P |

some of you will probably know me from helping me with my previous questions and know what situation i am in.
but i just thought id post all my questions up on here and try to get as much help as i can for each question.thanks
1.if we take a frequency and increment the frequency, either up or down,we will be able to alter the frequency before and perceptible change is noticed.the theory based around this phenomenon is that we can hear to a resolution of 6-15 cents.if we use 8 cents as our reference what is the minimum perceptible frequency change that humans can hear for a tone played two octaves above A4,A4 itself, and also two octaves below A4.show all calculations.
2.what is the difference in cents between a 'c' 12 perfect fifths above c2,and a 'c' 7 octaves above c2? what is the actual frequency difference?
3.if two non-correlated sound sources are added together describe how the percieved sources increase in volume.if we were to add together two sources, one at 50dBspl and another at 57dBspl calculate the resultant dBspl level.show all calculations.
4.derive the frequency relationship between the notes of the 'just diatonic scale' start with a 'c' as the origin.
compare the cent difference with the equal tempered scale.
5.describe the significant differences between moving coil and condenser microphones.show the typical response patterns that can be developed from them both.
6.construct the vector addition for the response pattern available from the combination of figure of eight response, and omni-directional microphones.
construct diagrams for cardiod,super-cardiod,hyper-cardiod responses.annotate the drawing to show relevant detail.
the above can be implemented on graph-paper or by using excel to map the graphs.
7. calculate the acceptance for all the above vector drawings.
8.give an overview of binaural recording techniques.
9.investigate the SMPTE standard, explain its application within the audio field, also make reference to world standards. |

Looks like you have a pretty good course you're taking. I never learned this kind of stuff in school, but picked it up on the fly. I will say that the questions seem logical, and designed to teach you some important principles. You may have to dig in and work hard to solve some of these problems, but it's worth it. Personally, I don't see what good it will do you for me or someone else to do your homework for you, so I'm going to just wish you luck.
If other people feel differently from me, they are certainly free to do as they choose. _________________ --Howard
