Battery question

I am in the process of moding/circuit bending something, and it uses 3 of those 1.5v/AG13/LR44 watch type battries. I want to switch them for a more standard type of battery. I was thinking of using 3 AAA's, but my dad mentioned something about making sure they have the right current. So, i have been trying to find info about swapping battery types, and current, and can't seem to find the info i need online.

Does anyone on here know eneough about batteries to help me? Are 3 AAA's a good swap, or is there something better to use?

You'll want to make the same voltage.

Larger batteries will have a larger capacity in general, meaning they will last longer.

Also, larger batteries will will be able to supply more current generally, but the circuit connected will determine how much current will actually be drawn from them.

So your suggested plan is a good idea I'd say, also you could use 3 AA's or 3 C or D cells. There used to be 4.5 V lantern batteries too BTW, not sure if those still exist.

I figured I was safe going with the smaller of the batteries. I just wanted to make sure, i don't want to ruin my circuit or anything. I like working with standard batteries much more than watch batteries, or other odd ones. I really prefer using 9 volt batteries when i can, but that is double what i need for this device hehe.
