Hi everyone,

I asked the same question on gearslutz and was directed here..

I bought a second-hand nord lead 2 yesterday, and today, while I was playing (after having the machine turned on for ~50 mins) it blew a fuse and turned off.

I went in the back and used one of those voltimeter things to check the fuse was blown - and it was.

Is this a sign of a problem with the instrument? Should I take it back? What kind of replacement fuse should I get?

On the fuse it says '100mA, 250V' where as on the back of my nord it says in the top left corner '230V, 100mA' . I was wondering if this is of any significance?

Thanks in advance,
Stu.

welcome Stuen

Take a look at http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/020_NordLead2/Red_Lady/Index_bestanden/Red_Lady/115-230_vica_versa.htm
point 7.

Maybe the 100 mA is a little bit to less. Clavia's advice is to use 125 mA.
If the trouble stays it's better to consult the Australian distibutor about this. Could be some trouble with the power suply.
I believe the synth is completely dead at the moment?
(It should be, without a fuse installed...)

Yeah the synth is completely out for the time being. How can I find out what year my synth was made?
The serial # is 9803183 if that helps..?

Would you be surprized when I tell you: march 1998 Smile
At that moment I believe no NordLead was made other than NordLead2.
I don't know when it is sold to the first costumer, so maybe there is still waranty, but I surely doubt it.

(Well, it's Australia, isn't it? Maybe they believe you walked for ages to cross the dessert to reach the nearby synth shop...? Smile Sorry, I'm in a terrible mood today...)

When you'll fire up the synth after replacing the fuse look what the LCD reads out.

Okay so in that case I need a 230/250V - 150mA slow blow fuse.
Thanks for your help - I'll report back once I get one!
