Doesn't sound like "big time" failure to me! Sounds pretty good and pretty much like it ought to, minus triggering.

Describe just how you "failed" and surely someone here will try to help.

it was actually the triggering that was causing the problem, it never really worked. just had a weird sort of effect, the more i turned the "delay" knob the longer it took before any sound came out. checked the schematic loads of times, i must have missed something. i still have another one of these boards and it would be nice to actually get this thing working. so any ideas will be appreciated.

Bump, for two reasons.

1) I'm having a similar problem in a similar circuit: When triggered, the envelope start is delayed instead of the expected fast Attack.

2) I can't believe I mis-represented to bubzy the level of helpfulness usually available here.

At the risk of saving face for Richard, may I suggest hanging a large value resistor (1-5.6Meg) between the input jack and ground? On all my drum modules with a cap in to the circuit, I have to do this to get it to trigger properly.

Well, I'll be--!

That was simple. Thanks, Dan.

Now I need to figure out why there's no Decay, despite increasing the cap or the Decay pot. scratch
