Motohiko Takeda's 555 Dual ADSR EG...
I'm totally green. What does J1 and J2 mean. I thought they were spots to hook a jack up to, but now that I'm building this (on veroboard) I'm not so sure anymore. They are on everyone else's schematics so if I'm gonna venture into the world of Modular I guess I oughta find out.
WWho better to ask but the experts here at Electro Music!

hi JRock!
i think J1/on the left/ is the gate input.
on the right side J1 and J2 is the EG output.
there is a simple one from Takeda.
it's a part of the OneBoardFarm synth.

Thanks PickNick.
So J1/1 is the gate/trigger in and J1/7 is the ADSR out. Right I figgered that...
So J1/8 is ground in? or is it the sleeve for a T/S jack? (J1/7 being the tip)
The others are for individual phases of the ADSR? ie: J1/6 is the release out? and J1/3 is the sustain out?
What would an out for an individual phase do? send CV... (or a gate signal?) for the time that phase is operational?
I've put my iron away for the day, so now I'm gonna check out this Simpler one. I do things a little backwards maybe... Start building; then ask questions
Just glancing at it, This one is just about the same thing, only single. Why does it use an opamp but the Dual one does not?
Thanks! |

J1-2... are connectors
for this kind of type design>
http://www.aleph.co.jp/~takeda/radio/img/OneBoardb.jpg
you can leave this on veroboard/J1-1,1-2...
just connect the pots like the farm555EG-revB, without J/umper.
the basic difference is the supply.
EGVer4 need +15/Gnd, Farm555 need +/-15V/Gnd. _________________ Allow theex.nl |

Thanks. I checked out the Farm synth site. Very cool. I think I'd seen it months ago but I wasn't knowledgeable enough to take advantage. Thanks for reminding me about this site! And for answering my questions.
That's right. I guess it is all +15V. Maybe I take the Opamps from the single board and incorporate them in to this. We'll see. I guess I'll be lucky if I can get this to work |
