I plan to start my first modular system soon. I thought that it would be a good idea for me to list my proposed setup for comments and feedback. I'm not new to synths, but I've never used a hardware modular so it's likely I've overlooked something important.

I plan to use it for both traditional subtractive synth sounds and for sound processing. I make primarily trance and industrial/noise.

I want to start with Eurorack -- it seems to be the most popular format and have the widest variety of modules. I plan to use a 9U Doepfer case, the A100P9. The modules I've chosen will fit in 6U and leave one row open for later additions.

For the core I plan to use three Cwejman modules:
VCO-2RM -- I like the two VCOs, FM and LFO capabilities.
MMF-1 -- Seems like a versatile VCF. I like the multi-mode aspect and the 12/24dB choice.
ADSR-VC2 -- The dual EG with variable attack slopes.

For utility, I have selected these Doepfer modules:
    A-118 -- Noise generator
    A-119 -- Audio in
    A-130 -- Linear VCA
    A-131 -- Exponential VCA
    A-136 -- Waveshaper
    A-180 (x2) -- Multiple
    A-183-1 -- Passive attenuator
    A-183-3 -- Amp
    A-192-2 -- MIDI to CV

Also I want to get these two Metasonix modules:
    R-51 -- Distortion/VCA
    R-52 -- Multi-mode VCF

Given that, what might I have overlooked?

I am no expert but something to do offsets would be useful, doepfer do the A183-2.

Some kind of analog sequencer would be fun as well.

Maybe some S&H as well.

Cheers

Andy
